Cutting boards and cheese boards are treated with food grade mineral oil. We recommend cutting on the non-engraved side for easy cleaning purposes and to protect the engraved design. We recommend treating the boards after each use or every 2 weeks. A good butcher block conditioning oil or food grade mineral oil is recommended. Wood boards need oiling to seal the grain against bacteria. An oil finish helps to preserve your cutting board. Do not put cutting boards in the dishwasher. Prolonged soaking can harm the integrity of any cutting board.
